Rangefinder-Photography

Public Group active 3 weeks, 2 days ago

Well, there is a huge range of rangefinder-cameras so far. They are an alcove today, but still new ones are produced. Most famous: the CV-Bessas, the Zeiss-Ikon ZM and of course, the Leicas.
This may be a group for all kinds of rangefinder-photography. So, not only for 24x36mm, but also for 6×6, 6×7, or whatever you like!

Cutting Photographic Paper to Size (2 posts)

I realised that I had a couple of films to print and with my Birthday a month away I would need to eek my remaining stock of paper. I had an unopened pack of 25 sheets of Ilford Warmtone Glossy 8 X 10 so I decided to cut them in half under red light with a scalpel. Suddenly I realised that I had made the perfect size proportionately for 35mm negs illuminated with a 50mm Enlarger Lens. No wastage a perfect size. I wonder why paper manufacturers don’t make exact sizes? After all what would be wrong, for instance with square paper for those using 120 film. I don’t see that the paper makers should assume they will always want to crop. I, for one prefer not to crop as 35mm is not exactly huge to start with but in future I shall but 8 X 10 and cut it in half

Good job you did not waste that paper as it is the most EXPENSIVE Ilford paper — I can afford only the Multigrade IV !
