Photographers shooting film in the UK

I gave up buying print film when my pre post paid envelopes to Bonusprint (UK) got returned marked “no longer at address”. I liked their d&p for Reala – fast turn around and reasonably consistent good quality for the price – certainly good enough to scan. They also had a useful web album. Just had an e mail from them however – they have moved to a new UK postal address and now advertise black and white and for the first time that I have seen process and mount for slides, together with an option to scan to CD. They sent me some pre post paid new envelopes. The slide price is £9.99 which is slightly more than FujiLab but the CD price of an additional £1.99 is good.Have sent them a Provia 100 so will see what they can do with it. New address is P.O. Box 484, Northolt, UB5 9FA. Hope they can get some business as not that many places left doing slide process and mount at sensible prices – I asked in a high street photo shop and they wanted £26 a roll.

Got back the Bonusprint processed slides. In the bag was a CD with my pickies on it plus the developed roll of film. Individual slides are easier to handle but the develpoing looks to be ok. Not so good was the delay – took nearly three weeks, and the quality of the scan was poor – many of the pictures had hairs and bits of debris on them as seen on the CD which is disappointing. Still I have the original film so I can scan them again. So although low price, perhaps they need to work a bit harder on the quality control.

    Hi Clearlight,
thanks for those alternatives. I have been mainly using the Fuji Lab – very reliable but good to have some other options and I hope enough photographers keep on shooting film to justify the labs doing E 36 etc.
    Cheers,
