Can I say that I am in a similar position to yourself in having a vast amount of Kodachromes that it would be nice to do something with. Due to the demise of Kodak Kodachrome my entire photography nowadays is based on B&W home processed and I have attempted to produce paper copy negs with my enlarger, a Durst M670, but with limited success as the transparencies tend to pop with the heat from my enlarger. I have tried to produce copy slides also with a newly acquired Nikon SLR fitted with a PB5 Bellows Unit and a PS5 slide holder. There again, with limited success. In fact I returned the bellows and slide holder as not been suitable. I can’t see me going down the scanner route, in fact a neighbour offered to give me a Nikon Coolscan, but the results I have seen seem so artificial, dare I say, digital and quite false looking so I guess the jury is out at present. I am sure the need will arise again and again I will look at the options but I cannot see me scanning slides. To me computers are for this sort of stuff, cameras are for producing art with soul.
