Medium Format 120 11 months, 1 week agoI have just ordered a mint condition Rolleiflex 3.5f White Face camera with a 75mm Plannar. It is over 30 years since I used Rollei and that particular camera had a Tessar lens. I am looking forward to processing my first results as I will be interested to compare them to my Summicron M optics and my Nikkor lenses

kenneth started the forum topic Box Speed V EI in the group
UK Photographers: 1 year, 9 months agoIt has taken me years to realise that the asa speed quoted on the manufacturers box is not necessarily the correct EI (Exposure Index) for my own particular style of usage. Only by carrying out personal tests can we arrive at the best EI for us. I will if I may give my own EI [...]

Rangefinder-Photography: 1 year, 9 months agoSorry, I had not see your post regarding comparative optics to Leica. I have a CV 25mm f4 Colour Skopar and a CV 75mm f2.5 Collour Hellier which I purchased as I do not use that focal length very often. I also have a Nikkor 35mm f2.8 PC Shift Lens and a Nokkor 85mm f2.5 [...]

Rangefinder-Photography: 1 year, 9 months agoI realised that I had a couple of films to print and with my Birthday a month away I would need to eek my remaining stock of paper. I had an unopened pack of 25 sheets of Ilford Warmtone Glossy 8 X 10 so I decided to cut them in half under red light with [...]

Try re rating HP5+ at 300 asa and develop as normal. The improvements are amasing or Tri-X at 320 asa

kenneth started the forum topic EI Numbers in the group
UK Photographers: 1 year, 9 months agoI was fascinated, looking through the Images Gallery how few use EI numbers. In most cases members are using box speed. Can I offer or suggest that those who are looking to improve or explore the capabilities of their film reduce box speed by 15% whilst maintaining normal development times. After that consider reducing box [...]

This is really nice. The only C41 film I have ever tried was Kodak BCN400 and the jury is still out on that. What makes you use C41 film?

You obviously like nighttime photography and execute that medium very well. I note that this photograph was taken at 15 seconds which seems to have been spot on. Can I ask what you rate HP5 at. I always rate it at 300 asa and develop normal less 10% which I find really enhances the tonality of this great film
