This is an even bigger problem for us film photographers than for those who use digital, as adds at least one extra “stage” to the proccess. I am currently trying to get colour under control. My sRGB files for online are ok, but when I print the Adobe RGB versions, I am more often than [...]

I print my M/F negs in the darkroom no probs ! I use a ‘NOVA’ 16×12″ slot processor for RA4 colour prints and dishes for B&W prints. I have never printed a ‘scanned’ film negative on computer printer so cannot comment on ‘Colour Control’ but I do a test strip in the darkroom, dry it off and look at it under good light and it is easy to…[Read more]

I have been looking into this and have read that: As Photography Magazines generate most of their income from advertising, which is predominantly for new digital equipment, their content must reflect this. Further more, Editorial content (as with fashion and other genres of magazines) is dictated by the advertisers. There is a problem with this [...]

There seems to be an exclusion of film in most of the many UK photography magazines, of which there are so many! There are however two that I often buy that have articles relevant to film. The first is ‘Amateur Photographer’ which recently published an article over old soviet film cameras (sat Dec 2010). They [...]
