Here is a portrait I did as part of a Traditional Darkroom demonstration at Brentwood Photographic Club where I took some portraits, processed the film and did some 10×8″ enlargements all in the Club room — I used my 1960′s Pentax Spotmatic loaded with outdated Ilford Delta 100 and the lens was a 135mm f3.5 Carl Zeiss Jena I got for £1-00 at…[Read more] -

So I have been out in town testing it– I loaded some outdated ‘Truprint’ ( Scotch / 3M ) 400 ASA film an set 200 ASA as it…[Read more]

I have taken that exact SAME tree when I went there with the PENTAX Club of Great Britain !! I used B&W though and a Yellow filter to make the sky come out –yours would be better if you had used a Graduate Grey filter, then the sky would have been darker and the land would have been exposed a little more to show the rocks etc.

I used a little fill-in flash for this.My boy’s fish tank using the close-focussing of the C220 again on the 1987 Kodak Vericolor III 220 film…[Read more]

I use some old paper I was given — it becomes quite ’Soft’ in Contrast so you need a contrasty negative !! You c an always add some drops of 1% Benzotriazole to the paper developer — it is an ’Anti-Foggant’

Excellent composition with the ’Letter-Box’ format and the Infra-Red suits the subject.

Pity the lighting condition were against you for this photo– it needed a better sky and more sun on the hills .

Did you use the ’Scheimpflug’ rule to get the maximum depth of field with your 5×4” camera ?
